If you’ve been sleeping on B Victorious, now is a good time to pay attention. The San Diego-based rock artist is back with his sophomore full-length album, “Anywhere But Here,” and it’s a bold, confident move from someone who clearly knows exactly who he is as a musician. Before making his name in rock, B Victorious spent years grinding as hip-hop artist King B.A.V., putting out eight albums along the way. When he switched lanes to rock, he didn’t do it halfway. He writes every lyric, plays every part, and produces every track himself. That kind of full creative control is rare, and you can feel it in the music. This is someone with a clear vision, and this album is that vision at its best.
The project picks up where his debut, “Too Hard A Force To Resist,” left off, but sharper and more focused. Lead single “Crushin’ On You” got things rolling in style, a hard-hitting rock track about the kind of attraction that takes over your brain whether you like it or not. Rock Era Magazine and Broken Color both gave it love, and honestly, it earned it. The guitar work hits hard, the vocals carry real conviction, and the hook is the kind that stays with you. The full 14-track album goes well beyond the single, though. “I Do What I Do” and “Raging Nightmare” bring the loud, driving rock energy, while “Conversation For One” pulls things back and gets genuinely personal. That range is impressive, and it never feels forced. B Victorious moves between hard rock and heartfelt ballads without losing the thread.
My personal take is that this album has more emotional depth than most rock releases you’ll hear this year. It’s honest in a way that sticks, and the production throughout proves that doing everything yourself doesn’t mean cutting corners. “Anywhere But Here” is a rock album worth your full attention, and if you give it a proper listen from track one to the end, you’ll understand pretty quickly why B Victorious is someone worth following closely, adding to your regular rotation, and telling your rock-loving friends about, because an independent artist putting out this level of work deserves every stream, every share, and every new fan he can get.
Make sure you’re following B Victorious on Instagram at @realbvictorious, TikTok at @b.victorious, X at @realBVictorious, and YouTube at @BVictorious for videos and updates. The album is streaming everywhere, including Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon Music, iHeart, and Pandora. Physical CDs are also available if you want to hold something real in your hands. Go support an independent artist who is genuinely doing it all on his own terms.
