Review: She’s Got Claws – Stronger The Faith

She’s Got Claws make a striking return with their latest album, “Stronger The Faith”. The British duo, made up of Micci Lou and Chris O-Ten, spent 18 months writing, producing, and mastering this nine-track project independently in their own studio. That time and care pay off in a record that feels focused, personal, and confidently crafted.

Rooted in a love for 1980s synth-pop, the album draws inspiration from artists such as Depeche Mode, Gary Numan, and Human League, while also tipping its hat to the theatrical flair of David Bowie and T-Rex. Many of the songs begin on bass guitar before building outward with layered harmonies and shimmering synth lines. That process gives the album a strong pulse, with grooves that pull you in and melodies that stay with you long after the final note.

The opener, “Rewind To Fade”, sets the mood with a clear nod to early 80s electronic sounds and works as a confident introduction to the band’s sonic world. As the record unfolds, it becomes clear that “Stronger The Faith” is deeply biographical. It touches on school bullying, family relationships, and the highs and lows of love and connection. There’s vulnerability here, but also resilience, and that balance gives the album real emotional strength.

Micci takes on vocals, keys, drum programming, production, and engineering, while Chris brings his bass work and co-production into the mix. Their independent, self-financed approach adds a genuine spirit to the whole project. With deep bass lines, detailed electronic arrangements, and haunting vocals, “Stronger The Faith” feels like a defining chapter for the duo.

I genuinely enjoyed sitting with this album and letting it unfold. It has a sincerity that’s hard to fake, and that’s what kept me coming back for another listen.

If you’re into synth-driven music with heart, this is one you should spend time with. Follow She’s Got Claws on social media, keep up with what they’re building, and add your favorite tracks from “Stronger The Faith” to your playlists. Independent artists grow because listeners choose to support them, so share the album with friends, talk about it, and let these songs become part of your everyday soundtrack.
