Review: Everlust – New Normal

“New Normal” by Everlust is a gripping track that dives into the discomfort of living in a world driven by screens and illusions. The only active gothic band in the Baltics, Everlust channels a dark yet melodic sound that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly current.

The song opens with a pulsing rhythm and haunting guitar work, building a mood that instantly pulls you in. Echoes of bands like The Sisters of Mercy and The Cure run through the track, but Everlust keeps their own identity strong and clear. The music is immersive, offering a blend of romantic gloom and sharp commentary. The chorus feels especially relevant. It speaks to how our lives are often reduced to performance, shaped by likes and algorithms.

The music video, created by Konstantin Kalinin, adds even more depth to the message. It visually captures the eeriness of a world where technology replaces experience. The collaboration continues the artistic consistency Everlust has built through previous videos like “Alone” and “Land of Dreams”. The track sounds full and polished, thanks to the work of Riccardo Daga at Titans Lab Recording Studio. Every element, from the layered guitars to the steady, expressive vocals, feels intentional and alive.

This release stands out not just because it sounds great, but because it dares to say something real. It’s a track that invites you to feel, reflect, and maybe even unplug for a while. Follow Everlust on all platforms and don’t forget to add “New Normal” to your playlist. You’ll be glad you did.
