I’ve been spinning Another Night nonstop since it dropped on May 9, 2025, and damn, Shadow Animal (aka Christopher Ryan) crafted something truly addictive. The four-track EP effortlessly rides that indie rock/singer-songwriter line with cinematic guitar layers, heartfelt vocals, and just enough spoken word texture to feel intimate without dragging you into over-styled territory.
The title track hooks you right away with a late-night vibe: soft drumbrushes, scalloping guitar fills, and lyrics that linger in your head long after the chorus hits. That rhythm sticks like incense in a quiet room. “Everybody Wants” picks up the pace, building into a theatrical crescendo. You can hear how all the instruments bloom together, and it really feels like you’re in the room as it swells.
“Trophy Room” is a standout, slightly more upbeat with a melodic riff that snakes around the verses. And “Bounce” sneaks in a little spoken word flair that keeps things fresh and unpredictable. There’s a real emotional clarity here; none of it feels overproduced or out of reach.
I like the song, and I think it should be in everyone’s playlist because it’s the kind of track that makes you check your phone less and feel the moment more, perfect to soundtrack late drives, quiet mornings, or just hanging on your own vibe.
All in all, Another Night feels honest, fully formed, and more “soundtrack to your real life” than anything else on my indie radar right now. Highly recommend giving it a few spins and stashing it in your regular rotation.
