If you’ve ever felt like life is equal parts beautiful and completely overwhelming, Lana Crow’s third album, “In Spirit”, might be the most honest musical companion you’ll find this year. Released on April 5th, 2026, the seven-track record is a bold and deeply personal look at the modern human experience, and it absolutely delivers. The album kicks off with “I Do”, easing you in with warm, cinematic synth pads and Crow’s unhurried, velvet-edged vocals. It’s not trying to grab you by the collar; it pulls you in by gravity. From there, “Orwellian Times” shifts the energy entirely, with sharp acoustic guitar licks building into electric riffs that are both infectious and unsettling in the best way possible. It’s a sharp look at the noise of modern life, and Crow navigates it without ever sounding preachy.
“No Secret (Remix)” and “So Done” keep the momentum going, balancing emotional rawness with sonic variety that keeps you guessing at every turn. The standout moment, though, has to be “Unknow the ‘Known'” — the original version Crow chose specifically to preserve the raw, sketchbook energy of her initial demo. With palm-muted guitars and high-energy drumming, it’s the album’s most visceral track, and its message about embracing uncertainty as a radical act of rebellion could not be more timely. “What Brings You Back” offers a much-needed breather, folding warmth and memory into a luminous chorus, before the title track “In Spirit” closes everything out on the dance floor. Yes, the dance floor. After all that emotional unpacking, Crow ends with liberation and movement, and it’s the perfect place to land.
Personally, this album is one of those rare records where every shift in tone feels purposeful rather than scattered. The way Crow maps out the emotional arc, from self-reckoning to freedom, is genuinely moving and worth sitting with more than once. The fact that Crow chose the rawer, demo-adjacent version of “Unknow the ‘Known'” over the Grammy-winning Tristan Boston-produced single says everything about her artistic integrity. This isn’t a record built for approval. It’s built for truth.
If “In Spirit” hasn’t made its way onto your playlist yet, go fix that right now. Stream it on Spotify, Apple Music, or Tidal, follow Lana Crow on Instagram at @lanacrowmusic, and explore her full catalog on Bandcamp. This is the kind of artist whose back catalog is just as worth your time as her latest work. Save every track, share it with someone who needs to hear something real, and pay close attention to what she puts out next, because if this album is any measure, Lana Crow keeps getting more compelling with every release.
