Review: heddlu – Tramor

Tramor, the latest release from Welsh artist heddlu, is an absorbing and emotional record that blends electronic, indie, and psych elements into something beautifully sincere. Released by Zawn Records, the album reflects a journey of healing, change, and artistic evolution.

The word Tramor means “Overseas” in Welsh. It feels fitting for a collection of songs shaped by distance, introspection, and a deep connection to identity. After a period of hearing loss and personal upheaval, Rhodri Daniel, formerly of Estrons, returns with music that feels honest and richly textured.

The opening track, Y Pell, draws listeners into a meditative space. It’s atmospheric and steady, like a breath held before release. Fire A Flare adds motion and tension, combining melody with emotion that feels urgent without being overwhelming. Honestly brings a soft, reflective moment that lingers long after the final note fades. One of the highlights, Paid Becso Am Dim, captures a quiet strength with minimal beats and repeating motifs. There’s a depth to it that makes it easy to get lost in. Fata Morgana closes the album with dreamlike textures and a hazy charm that leaves you wanting to loop the experience from the beginning.

The sound design throughout is warm and alive, layered with synths, guitars, and subtle rhythms that never rush the listener. There is a patient energy that invites repeat listens. Tramor doesn’t try to be loud or flashy. It simply exists in a space of emotional honesty and creativity. What stood out most to me is how effortlessly the album feels both intimate and cinematic. It’s music for late-night reflection, long walks, or quiet mornings when you need something real.

Be sure to follow heddlu on Spotify, Bandcamp, or wherever you listen to music. And definitely add standout tracks like “Fire A Flare”, “Honestly”, and “Fata Morgana” to your playlists. Tramor is a beautiful listen that’s well worth your time.
