Review: Izzy and the Black Trees – Kisses to Chaos

Izzy and the Black Trees return with a gripping new album, “Kisses to Chaos”, a record that captures raw emotion and restless energy while shaping it into something bold and memorable. The Polish band has spent years building a strong identity within alternative rock, and this third album shows a group fully comfortable with its voice. Inspired by the industrial landscape and cultural pulse of Łódź, the music reflects contrast, tension, and the strange beauty that can grow out of disorder. The album opens with “Escape from the Liberty Cinema”, a track that slowly draws you in with a hypnotic rhythm and shadowy guitar lines. Izabela “Izzy” Rekowska’s voice immediately commands attention. She moves between quiet intensity and powerful bursts of energy, giving the songs a dramatic edge. Her performance brings a deep emotional presence that stays with you from the first track to the final moments of the album.

A few songs later, “This Land Is Ours” raises the intensity with sharp guitar work and a driving rhythm section. The band sounds tight and confident, creating a sense of momentum that keeps the album moving forward. “Post-Apocalypse” follows with fierce energy and a darker atmosphere. The song touches on conflict and uncertainty, giving the album a wider emotional scope without losing its raw rock spirit. The album’s pacing works beautifully. “Restless Nights” has a faster pulse, capturing the thrill of late nights and loud music, while “Endless Seas” slows things down and offers a more reflective moment. By the time the closing track “Stalker” arrives, the album settles into a hypnotic groove that leaves a lingering impression long after the final note fades.

I really enjoyed how confident this album sounds. Every track has a clear sense of purpose, and the band’s chemistry keeps the record engaging from beginning to end. There is a strong balance between melody, intensity, and atmosphere that makes the listening experience feel alive. “Kisses to Chaos” highlights how much Izzy and the Black Trees have grown since forming in Poznań in 2018. Their music channels personal tension, social reflection, and fearless rock energy into something exciting and memorable.

If you enjoy bold alternative rock with heart and attitude, make sure to spend time with “Kisses to Chaos”. Add the album to your playlist and keep it in rotation during late-night drives or long headphone sessions. And while you are at it, follow Izzy and the Black Trees across their social media pages to stay connected with future releases, live shows, and new music on the horizon. Artists who create music with this much passion deserve a strong community around them, so give them a follow and keep their songs spinning.
