Review: MISS J – ROCKHOUSE

Miss J’s new album “ROCKHOUSE” is a full-blast thrill ride through raw guitar riffs and pulsating house beats that grab hold and don’t let go. It’s loud, unapologetic, and completely her own. She’s not blending genres for the sake of it—she’s living in the space where they collide, and it sounds incredible. Jacqueline Real, aka Miss J, grew up immersed in the arts, and it shows. A lifelong performer with a deep love for classic rock and the high of music festivals, she brings both worlds together with a serious attitude. “ROCKHOUSE” doesn’t follow rules. It kicks the doors open and invites you in for the chaos, sweat, and joy of live music, but with the precision and pulse of electronic production.

The standout moment for me is her single “22424”. It’s vulnerable without losing power, tracing the shift from heartbreak to healing. It’s proof that she’s not just here to bring energy—she’s got something to say. And you can feel that across the album, whether she’s tearing into a rock riff or laying down a deep groove. What really hit me about “ROCKHOUSE” is how it never plays it safe. There’s a wild edge to every track. The guitars growl, the drops hit hard, and her vocals command the room. You can tell Miss J knows who she is as an artist. She’s not interested in fitting into a box.

It’s the kind of album that makes you want to move, shout, maybe even cry a little, then dance again. I’ve had it on repeat and still find new layers with every listen. This release also marks a big step for Miss J, as it’s released independently through her own label, Electric Legacy Music, with distribution via Sony Orchard. That’s a boss move, and it’s clear she’s building something that goes beyond the music.

If you’re someone who’s ever screamed your lungs out at a rock show and then danced ‘til sunrise, “ROCKHOUSE” was made for you. Make sure to follow Miss J and throw this album into your rotation. Whether you’re driving late at night, getting ready for a night out, or in your headphones, zoning out the world, this one brings the fire. You’ll feel it in your chest and probably start moving without realizing it. Go on—turn it all the way up.
